What the hour
looks like.

One hour, run by our coaches, same shape every session.

  • 01

    Warm-up game

Everyone starts together with a game that gets bodies moving. No skills to learn first, and nobody gets picked last.

  • 02

    Two groups of 20

We split the floor in half and put 20 kids each side. One side plays ball games and works through throwing, balance and pulling stations, the other side takes the obstacle circuit: tunnels, steps, hurdles and sleds. Coaches change anything on the spot to suit the kid in front of them.

  • 03

    Swap sides halfway

Halfway through the hour the two groups swap, so every child gets both. Kids go at their own pace and go again as many times as they want. Walking it, running it or rolling it all count.

  • 04

    Back together to finish

Both groups come in for one last game, then it’s done and you’re free to go.

(02)Who it’s for

Yes,
your kid too.

You have taken your kid somewhere that said all welcome and found out it wasn’t. We know.

Circle Square is an all-abilities gym. This is what our coaches do every week of the year, not a special version we put on for the holidays. They work with everyone, from neurodivergent kids to kids who use a wheelchair.

There is no minimum. If your child joins in for five minutes and watches the rest, that is a good session. If you need to leave at the twenty minute mark, leave, and nobody will say a word about it.

Any age. Any ability. Brothers and sisters welcome. You do not need an NDIS plan, a diagnosis, a referral or any paperwork, and there is no cost at any point.

Before they take part

Risk warning and agreement

This is a recreational physical activity. Games, ball sports and obstacle courses involve running, jumping, climbing, equipment and contact with other people. Injury is a real possibility.

  • Risk warning. I have read this warning and I understand these activities carry obvious risks, including the risk of injury and, rarely, serious injury. This is given to me as the parent or guardian, on behalf of my child, as a risk warning under the Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic).
  • Suitability and disclosure. I have decided this session is right for my child. I have told Circle Square about every medical condition, allergy, medication, behaviour and support need relevant to their safety, and what I have written is true and complete.
  • I supervise. I stay on site for the whole session and I remain responsible for my child. Circle Square coaches run the activities. They do not take over my duty of care.
  • Instructions. My child will follow the coaches’ instructions and use equipment as directed. Circle Square may end a child’s participation if it is not safe to continue.
  • Damage. I am responsible for any loss or damage my child causes to property or equipment.
  • Claims. To the extent the law allows, I will not hold Circle Square, its staff or its volunteers responsible for injury or loss that comes from my child taking part.

Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

(05)Questions

Questions,
answered.

My child needs a lot of support. Can they still come?

Yes. You’ll be there beside them and our coaches work in alongside you. If your child has a support worker, bring them along too. Write down what helps on the booking form and the coaches read it before the session starts.

My child gets overwhelmed, or gets nervous about new places.

That happens here most weeks. There’s a social space off the main floor, away from the noise, and they can take themselves there whenever they need to, for as long as they need. Plenty of kids spend the first ten minutes watching from the side, and that counts as taking part.

Can siblings come?

Yes, brothers and sisters are welcome and it costs nothing for them either. Add each child on the booking form so we’ve got our numbers right.

Do I need an NDIS plan or any funding?

No. This program sits outside all of that. No plan, no diagnosis, no referral, nothing to fill in beyond the booking form.

Is it genuinely free?

Yes. Nobody gets invoiced, and nobody will ask you for money on the day or afterwards. We’ve opened in Geelong and we want local families to know we’re here.
